Right now I am trying to figure out who I go about becoming an agile coach. In this document I will be curating all the material that gets recommended by various individuals and hopefully through the process I can distill it into something useful and I could become an agile coach by the end of it or during the process.

What is an Agile Coach?

A pretty basic question is what is an Agile Coach? Definitions vary but the commonly accepted view of agile coach is someone who helps people to adopt agile ways of thinking and working, as outlined in the 4 Agile Values and 12 Agile Principles.

Manifesto for Agile Software Development

We are uncovering better ways of developing software by doing it and helping others do it. Through this work we have come to value:

4 Values of Agile

  1. Individuals and interactions over processes and tools
  2. Working software over comprehensive documentation
  3. Customer collaboration over contract negotiation
  4. Responding to change over following a plan

That is, while there is value in the items on the right, we value the items on the left more.

Principles behind the Agile Manifesto

We follow these principles:

12 Principles of Agile

  1. Our highest priority is to satisfy the customer through early and continuous delivery of valuable software.
  2. Welcome changing requirements, even late in development. Agile processes harness change for the customer's competitive advantage.
  3. Deliver working software frequently, from a couple of weeks to a couple of months, with a preference to the shorter timescale.
